What should I write about a place which is already talk of the town since it’s inception? A gem nestled inside the lanes of Banjara Hills coyly inviting you over for the best in-house roasted coffee paired with Italian/Continental food. It’s a stunning bungalow exquisitely transformed into a Cafe. As you enter into the property, the greenery and the open-to-sky setup captivates you for a surreal experience, provided the weather-god be generous on you. The interior inside is modern, chic, just-about comfortable and nicely done in multi-coloured and attractive upholstery.
Nishant, the owner, making use of his earlier experiences put forwards his elaborate and meticulous planning. He sensed the opportunity quite early foreseeing the lack of great coffee places which could also serve brilliant food to be paired with coffees. He personally sources the coffee from the best plantations within India, handcrafted the recipes, roast the beans for that perfect consistency, and that’s how each cup results into an impressive coffee every time you visit.
The signature Onion Rings, stuffed with Cheese was addictive and oil free. Pair this with Cold Brew or Cranberry and Coffee and experience the strong notes balancing out the cheesy after-taste. Cheesy stick, a delightful texture of batter fried soft cheese was gooey and palatable. Coated with flour, the Zucchini fries were unexpectedly good. Minimally done sprinkled with zesty Piri-Piri marinade, it went quite well with Cold Brews.
Spaghetti dressed in creamy spinach sauce was such a delish. Green never tasted any better than this. Could not stop from sinking our teeth into Veg Penne Pasta, dotted with exotic vegetables in a buttery tomato sauce. It was our top favourite. I am a sucker for anything that has Paneer, but sadly the vegetarian version of Bolognaise went south. Not sure if the idea was bad or the execution.
Coming to the main course, I enjoyed the copious amounts of Buffalo Mozzarella along with seasoned vegetables tossed in garlic sauce. Definitely, a healthier version if you skip the carb-loaded garlic bread. Spinach and corn stuffed into soft pasta sheets remained delicious even after 20 minutes as I was busy clicking pictures with it. The right balance of flavours.
Escape the traffic and stressful city life by falling into the lap of nature over some delightfully crafted coffees and food. This is one such place which you should not miss at all. It is always crowded and teeming with people, so be patient until you get a Table. On a downside, the food portions are little less for the pricing, but, are we complaining?
